The first Interbank Tournament Invitation

The Interbank Tournament developed from a match that Terry Lennox had organised between CBA and the Rural Bank. Rural also played against CBCo, (Commercial Banking Co of Sydney – now defunct). A meeting was held in an attempt to have the other banks join the movement, which of course was successful.

The first Interbank Tournament was held on 20^th March 1958 at The Lakes Golf Club and was hosted by The Corporation (now CBA). The Tournament was held twice yearly until 1986 when it was changed to a yearly event. The tournament is now usually held during the month of March.

There are 4 trophies played for at the Interbank Tournament, 2 teams (Scratch best 5 of 8 cards and Handicap best 10 of 14 cards) and 2 Individual, Scratch and Handicap.
