Lea Thomson Trophy

This event is where players from the Sydney Club compete against players from the Newcastle region. It has been conducted at various courses generally in the Newcastle/Central Coast area every year since 1961 (except for 1962).

 As a result of a visit from Ron Elliott and a suggestion to Lea Thomson from a staff member named Phil Crow, the trophy for this event was donated by Lea on 25^th June 1961. Lea was the Assistant Manager, Newcastle and afterwards Manager, Hamilton.

Over the last several years, it has been played at the Pacific Dunes Golf Club and more recently at the Hunter Valley Golf & Country Club.
