CBA Sydney Golf Club

Prior to 1999, the Sydney Club played a game against our counterparts from Canberra, generally around Goulburn. In 1999, the Canberra Club was unable to field a team, so it was decided that we should still play a game somewhere during the cooler months. Member Stan Conner suggested that we play a “Winter Cup” in Canberra each year, of course during the winter months.

The first game was played at the new Gold Creek course in Canberra in July 1999.  After a few discussions, Peter Bendeich (Life Member 2008) decided to sponsor the event. The Winter Cup has been held every year since and is currently played at Federal Golf Club in July.
