Interbank
Stonecutters Ridge Golf Course
The Interbank tournament is a Sydney based golf event that is contested between the various banks and financial institutions. The tournament started back in 1958 and was held at The Lakes GC. Today, some of the banks & financial institutions that competed in the earlier years of the Interbank tournament no longer exist now. This would have been a result of past mergers or take overs.
The Interbank tournament initially started as a bi-annual event, being played approximately every 6 months until the late 1980’s when it changed to an annual event only. The tournament is now usually played in early March each year and is held at different courses around Sydney. The main banks (Commonwealth, Westpac, St George & Reserve) now take turns in hosting the tournament each year.
At the tournament, players from each team play for both team trophies and individual trophies. These are :
– Interbank Trophy (Team Handicap)
– Interbank Pennant (Team Scratch)
– Moss Parker Trophy (Individual Scratch)
– Many Thanks Cup (Individual Handicap)
